The Most Beautiful Beach I've Ever Been To!

Kim, (trip to Holguin, Cuba)
Travel consultant: Michelle Toth, michelle@blowestravel.com

I have to say that we were pleasantly surprised by the resort.  It was a much better experience than our trip to Varadero a few years back.

The resort was very well maintained. Our room was immaculate and quite spacious. We had a fairly new bathtub and toilet in our room. The comforters were a bit dated but were clean and did the trick. The air conditioning worked well. We had a hairdryer and makeup mirror (which was a huge bonus for me!) and the mini fridge was stocked daily with a variety of different pops and beer. We did leave a goodie bag and a couple of pesos every day for the cleaning staff. It was a very large resort so it was a bit of a walk from the room to the beach and most restaurants, etc. However, it was a great way to get some exercise in and we usually only did this a couple of times during the day.

The staff was amazing.  So friendly and accommodating - I can't say enough about the exceptional service. The beach was probably the most beautiful beach I've ever been to.  No seaweed, rocks, etc. The food was actually quite good. The a-la-cartes were good. The presentation of the food was quite impressive and the food was quite tasty. The restaurants and buffets all had condiments such as ketchup, Tabasco sauce, etc. Desserts were excellent.  The resort had an ice cream bar - delicious! The girls loved it. My waistline - not so much.

We didn't go on any excursions.  We took one a few years ago and didn't really feel the need.  We did some snorkeling around the resort and we enjoyed it. Someone from the resort brought fish food and it attracted some beautiful fish.

The entertainment was lacking. The entertainment was pretty repetitive. The best show was the water show on our last night. We played cards most nights anyway and usually by 11 we were pretty beat.

I would definitely go back. For the price, I couldn't recommend it enough. Wifi - was only 1 peso an hour. Plenty enough when you are on a trip - especially a family trip.

We will definitely be going back if the prices remain the same next year!

Scenic - The Ship & Crew Were Amazing!

Lori & Brent, (trip to Scenic - Budapest)
Travel consultant: Monica Purdon, monica@blowestravel.com

Everything about our trip was fabulous! I cannot say enough about Scenic. The ship and especially the crew was amazing!

I guess I should start with the flights. Air Canada Rouge is just fine to travel on. I would advise anyone going long distances to book the extra legroom though. The seats behind us did seem tight. The flight attendants were always offering something and the food was typical airline fair.

I give Air Canada Rouge 4*

Once we got to Budapest and Scenic took over we were treated very well. The ship itself was beautiful and clean! Boarding the ship was well organized and the rooms were a good size, perfect for what we needed. Beds, linens, pillows were very nice and the shower was huge!

We had a lovely view on the first day, right across from the Parliament Buildings in Budapest so we took advantage of the butler service and ordered breakfast to eat on our balcony. So glad we did as the views from then on were not nearly as nice.

Next, the staff on board. Absolutely, the best service I have ever had! They were attentive, even when we were not in their section, remembered where we came from, went above and beyond what we ever expected of them. By the end of the trip, we were sad to leave “our friends” behind.

The excursions were well planned and it was nice having local guides to be able to learn more of the culture. The local entertainment that was brought on the boat was also very enjoyable. Some days it was hard to choose which excursion to go on! The only downside to them was that we would have liked a little more free time to enjoy the local culture more. (For us that might have meant tasting the local beer! 😊) Due to the water being too shallow, we did miss our last outing as it was going to be a long bus ride and we knew we were going to have a 5-hour ride the following day. We were happy that this happened at the end of the trip rather than at the start.

Again, because of the shallow water, arrangements had to made to fulfill the cruise agenda and was done so very well. The cruise director, JJ, and Scenic made the arrangements seem seamless even though I am sure it was bedlam!!!

I give Scenic and the crew of the Jasper 5+++++*

Hotel in Prague was great, close to everything. The rooms were nice, breakfast very good but the bar and restaurant were quite pricey. The Scenic rep at the hotel was very informative about the culture, the quirks of the city, where to go so as to not pay too much! Loved Prague, it is a beautiful city!

I give Prague 5*

I would say the biggest challenge was the money....three different currencies. The Scenic rep in Prague did give us a cheat sheet and we used it a lot!!!

All in all, we loved this trip and will be saving up for another!

Thank you for all your help.

Gorgeous Trip with Avalon Waterways!

Dannie, (trip to Prague to Paris - Avalon cruise)
Travel consultant: Heather Hines, heather@blowestravel.com

Just back from a gorgeous trip.

The two nights in Prague were wonderful, and the cruise through Germany was so beautiful.

We were treated like royalty for the whole trip.  Paris was amazing.

Avalon, specifically Adrienne, and the tour guides, were all so well organized, funny, knowledgeable and made us feel well looked after.

Thank you for suggesting Avalon (no motion sickness by the way).  It was a cozy size ship and we met so many interesting people.

Have a good holiday!
